Carpet Stain Removal

September 22, 2009

The first question to ask regarding carpet stain removal; is it a spot or a stain?

A spot is a substance that can be dissolved or suspended from the carpet.

A stain is a permanent colour change which can be difficult to remove.

The problem we find every day at All Aces Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Services is that the customer has had an accident on the carpet and they go to the cupboard and grab a chemical and pour it on the carpet, these can cause extra problems.

1. The chemical that was chosen from the cupbaord could contain bleaches in the product and can take colour from the carpet.

2. The chemical can leave a residue that can attract soil and become worse.

3. Too much chemical can over-wet the carpet and cause the stain to disappear but it the stain can wick back up. The over wetting can also cause a bacterial problem therefore, creating an odour.

4. The chemical can have optical brightners that can cause the carpet to go purple when sunlight or uv light hits the stain and can also take away stain guard protection and can void some carpet warranties.

5. The chemical says it can remove all stains. Most chemicals purchased from the supermarket are not worth the money you spend on them. The best options if you want to buy something, is to look for the woolsafe logo and remember that each technician from All Aces Services carries over 30 specialised chemicals that are designed for Carpet Stain Removal.

6. Those unhelpful home hint books or old wives tales are simply that; something that people have said but should not be followed through on – as they are not written by qualified professionals eg. Bi-carb soda but bi-carb soda can bleach wool.

Here is my golden rule: eg if your carpet is worth say $5000 and you own a dress or a suit for that value and you’re about to put that chemical on the carpet would you use that product on the dress or the suit or would you call a professional?

Here is how All Aces Services can help.

1. Every time you get your carpets and upholstery cleaned by All Aces Services you will receive a free All Aces Services Home Pro safe carpet and upholstery Spotter that does not leave a residue, is easy to use with no bleaching capibilities.

Mould Inspection

September 22, 2009

I helped in a  Today Tonight Story in which a house has been totally affected by mould.

I arrived at the property to inspect the damage from the mould and to find out the source. This story may air on Wednesday 23/09/09.  The property inspection for moisture content was to see why the mould growth has spread as far as it had.

My understanding of the story is that there was a preventative method used to clean and prevent the spread of mould. Different methods of cleaning have been performed in 2 of the bedrooms. The 1st method was natural base chemicals however this method does not seem to have worked well. Second method used was cleaning down the area with a chlorine base chemical. This method washed down the area and it looks good but neither of the companies have found the source of the problem and tried to solve and prevent from re-occuring.  Neither method used  has contained the areas, so cross contamination has now occurred.

4 Steps for mould.

1. Identify the source.mould inside wall 300x225 Mould Inspection

2. Prevent the mould from spreading (containment)

3. Identify the type of mould

4. Start to rectify the problem

At this particular property the tenants have allowed the mould to spread to every part of the house.  It has now contaminated every room and all the contents as well.  A full restoration will be required to properly fix this problem.  A sample was taken to find out the type of mould and the results will be back on Wednesday before airing.

All Aces Service prides itself on being a company that continues to stay ahead in the industry by using the lastest and best Equipment there is available. Truck mount machines for carpet cleaning are one way we do this, so that we can provide our customers with the best possible clean ever.

1994 All Aces Services made the decision to better our cleaning abilities to our customers, we needed to upgrade our equipment. We were using Electric Portable Machines, which were just not giving us the results we could really achieve. Research found that Hydramaster Truck Mounts were what we needed to be able to improve our cleaning and business out of sight.

The benefits of using a carpet cleaner with state of the art equipment are;
1. High Heat
2. More Pressure
3. More Extraction Power
These three advantages allows the techician to rinse the carpet more thoroughly, and gives you greater heat therefore, resulting in cleaner and drier carpets.

A Carpet Cleaning company simply is not great because they use Truck Mount Machines, they also need to provide:
* Guarantee
* Training and Certification
* The level of services that they provide for the customer, see our Deluxe Clean
* Quality of Chemicals that they use

Look at our link on How to Choose a Quality Carpet Cleaner

Over the years we have tried other Brands of Carpet Cleaning Equipment, however, quality of Service to us as being a customer was not maintained. In 2007 we began using Carpet Cleaners Warehouse and have found that Nick, Toby & Peter to be the ones that do provide the level of service we were looking for. Hence our return to using Hydramaster Carpet Cleaning Machines – our fleet is made up of Boxer 421′s and CDS 4.8, this relationship has been a great asset to our company.

On the odd occasion that our Truck Mount Machines break down, it is the quick response and ability to have the equipment repaired and back working, and this is what Carpet Cleaners Warehouse does. They have been available to us 7 days a week for Techicial and business advice. It is this type of relationship that lets our business move forward and stay ahead of the game.

With our recent attendence at Connections Conference in Las Vegas we found that Hydramaster is the most used Carpet Cleaning Equipment, with the bigget number of companies using them.

One of our best business decisions has been having Carpet Cleaners Warehouse and Hydramaster on our team, with their continued support and service All Aces Services, will continue to Service our customer to the highest degree.

RUG CLEANING

We have just been to the America and visited New York. My wife Carmel and myself went to Rug Renovations and Long Island Rug Cleaning, these companies wash up to 40 000 rugs a year each. These companies was amazing and has given us – All Aces Services some great ideas to implement to improve our business to be able to better service our clients.

We also went to the conference “Connections” held in Las Vegas – this is the biggest Cleaning/Restoration conference in the world for our industry. There were great demostration – especially for Rugs, which were focused on removing the dry soil from rugs and also for rugs that have been effected by Urine. What we were very impressed with was the new equipment that has been created for rugs – which was a Industrial size Spin Dryer and new Hanging racks. The knowledge that Aaron and Ellen passed on to the attendees was very impressive. We have enrolled in he Rug Master Training Program that will begin next year.

The demo station for the Urine Treatment of rugs was where they submerged the rug into the wash pit and with the use of the MASTERBLEND urine Products the rugs was soaked, rollered and then rinse. From this washing procedure the rug was placed in Centre Fuse Evolution Spin Dryer to remove the excess water and then additional rinse can also be completed as part of the process and then spun again. The Rug was then hung ready for drying – which was done on the new motorised hanging machine, which reduces the extra labour that is usually needed to hang rugs.

Aaron and Ellen run Master Rug Cleaning Schools in Dallas – Texas, @ Ellens’ Rug Factory. The course is in March and October for 3 days at a time. The course is very comprehensive it covers; Rug Cleaning, Fringe Cleaning, Rug Identification, Rug Origin, Dye Bleeding, Repairs and How to step up a Rug Cleaning Factory, which also comes with Aaron and Ellen’s full support and knowledge. Phillip McGurk and Myself will be attending next year to further our knowledge to better service our clients in Rug Cleaning.
