Stain Removal on Wool Carpet

January 21, 2012

We recently had a lady who called us from Caloundra who was in urgent need of stain removal services. She was extremely upset after she had gone out for the day and left her new puppy at home. When she returned her puppy had left her a present on her new wool carpet, as you can imagine she did not like the present.

She was so sure that her new wool carpet was ruined, but then she remembered that her friend in Noosa had recently used a carpet cleaner for her stain removal. Her friend had spilt some nail polish on her carpet and called All Aces Services who removed the stain.

The worst and most common mistake that people make is trying all the different chemicals that are usually stocked under their kitchen sink. These chemicals and cleaning agents can actually cause more damage to the wool carpet than the stain itself.

Professional Stain Removal on the Sunshine Coast

She called All Aces Services and we calmed her down and had one of our friendly qualified technicians there first thing the next morning. She was apprehensive at first but when she saw just how professional we were and removed the stain completely for her she was amazed.

There are plenty of carpet cleaners out there that advertise for stain removal but are not professionally trained or certified by an independent organisation. Our technicians are fully trained through the Clean Trust (formerly IICRC) and know how to do professional stain removal in the home.

So if you have a stain that you think can’t be removed, even if you have already tried other carpet cleaning companies with no success, then give us a call before you try anything else on it. If we don’t make a difference to your stain with our stain removal services in the first 15 minutes then it’s FREE.

Carpet Stain Removal and Coffee Spills

At All Aces Services we receive calls all the time about stains on carpet, as unfortunately mishaps occur from time to time. We can sometimes get a little carried away with trying to treat the stains ourselves.remove coffee stain carpet1 Carpet Stain Removal and Coffee Spills

We recently had a call from a customer located at the Sunshine Coast, in Kuluin. She had nice wool carpet in her house and had not had a chance or even really considered protecting her carpet with carpet protection. Her grandson had just spilled a cup of coffee on the carpet creating a nice big stain.

Now let me explain the problem with coffee and what it does to wool carpet. Coffee is a dye stain. Wool is an acid dyed carpet, which means it is dyed with an acid dye. So in fact the coffee re-dyes the fibre of the carpet. Therefore you can get the idea that general carpet cleaning alone would not remove the stain.

Fortunately for our client she did the right thing even though it was a Saturday afternoon, she rang our office straight away. We were able to have one of our most experienced technicians located at the Sunshine Coast sent to her house within 2 hrs. It took our technician a while to remove the stain 100% as he had to remove the coffee dye from the carpet without removing the actual colour of the carpet.

Not only are all of our technicians at All Aces Services fully qualified through the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification but so are all of our office staff. This means you can be guaranteed that all of our staff know exactly what they are doing and we back them with our 100% money back guarantee.

Next time you have a little mishap with coffee or other stains on your carpet make sure you ring the experts immediately. Contact All Aces Services on 1800 00 1010 and you will be guaranteed that your carpets are in great hands and you will get the best result possible for coffee or stain removal.

Paint Removal from Carpet – Carpet Stain Removal

June 20, 2011

A very distressed customer from Carina in Brisbane called us after a home improvement accident in the home had occurred on his carpet.blue paint 300x263 Paint Removal from Carpet Carpet Stain Removal

The challenge : Cream coloured Acrylic Carpet vs Blue Paint

While painting an area within the home, paint had accidentally leaked across the carpet.  Approximately 30 spots of water based paint had dripped over the carpet.  We attended to the property within 1 hour of receiving the call.  The paint spots had hardened and dried into small balls in the fibre.

By rinsing the affected area, this began to moisten the paint in the carpet fibers. By using a spray bottle with warm water and focusing on the more difficult spots, dwelling time allowed the paint to soften and be extracted from the carpet. More spots proved to be more difficult than others due to the amount of paint, but with a lot of patience and persistence, all the paint spots were removed.

Our customer did the best thing you could do in a situation such as this, he called a professional.  By not attempting to remove the paint himself or agitate the spots by rubbing at them and potentially causing more damage, we were able to remove the paint out of the carpet 100%.

If you have a stain emergency in Brisbane, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast, contact All Aces Services immediately or call us on 1800 00 1010. We are here to help with your spot and stain removal.

Wool Carpet Restoration

May 4, 2011

Do you own or are you thinking about owning a good quality woollen carpet? You will need to know about Wool Carpet Restoration and Cleaning too.

Wool carpet is a very durable long lasting fibre, provided you look after it. Wool carpet isn’t cheap and no doubt you want to know how to take care of it, especially if you have children i.e. how to keep it soft and stain free. The more soil there is, the more difficult and expensive it becomes to clean. By implementing good house keeping practices and a maintenance plan you can ensure fabulous carpets and rugs for a long time.

I can highly recommend an annual deluxe carpet cleaning service. If you don’t have carpet protection, I would put this on your to-do list as well. A deluxe service provides the works; pre-conditioning, rotary agitation with a soft brush/pad to loosen the soiling (this cleans up to 50% better), state of the art equipment (truck mount steam extraction), deodorising and neutralising (which leaves no sticky residue and no re-soiling) and a rotary dry pad to leave your carpets walk-on dry (removes the last standing water reducing drying time and brightens the carpet by 20%). And to top it off we can move your furniture such as bedside tables, lounge suites etc and then place them back on special foam tabs to protect the carpets and furniture.

Now if you’re looking at going that extra step to protect your luscious wool carpet, go for the carpet protection. This will allow any future spills etc to bead, which allows you to clean up the liquid immediately without it penetrating the wool.

There is no job to small or too big that we can’t do including carpet repairs. With our 100% money back guarantee, our Woolsafe certified technicians will take extra special care with your wool carpet and rugs. So give us a call and we can organise the best service just for you.

Know all the facts about your carpet

February 25, 2011

You’ve gone through the long process of choosing just the right colour, fibre and construction of your carpet.  The installer has spent a whole day in your home and you finally have your beautiful, brand new flooring installed.  But what is that smell?  And are those wrinkles in the carpet?

The following list describes some of the biggest problems carpet owners run into, along with some practical solutions.

Purchasing new carpet

Shedding – Some types of carpets will shed balls of “fluff” throughout their first year.  This is normal and should not be a cause for concern, since these balls are generally too large to become airborne.  Shedding occurs when a tuft happens to rise above the pile of the carpet.  Sprouting is also common during the first year, but can also occur throughout the life of the carpet.

Solution :  Carpet should gradually stop shedding after one year.  Vacuum regularly to shorten the amount of time your carpet sheds.  If you find a sprouting carpet tuft, cut it to size with a pair of scissors.  You could damage your carpet if you try to vacuum or pull at the tuft.

Wrinkles and Buckles – If carpet is improperly installed, it may ripple, buckle or wrinkle.  This is not normal, and should immediately be corrected.

Solution : Contact your carpet installer and have them fix your carpet by using a power stretcher.  It is best to check for defects before the installer leaves to make corrections easier.  Do not let anyone tell you that wrinkles or buckles are normal.

Long-term Carpet Problems

Crushing – Over time, foot traffic and heavy furniture can crush carpet fibres.  While a certain amount of crushing is normal for all types of carpets, some carpets like acrylic can be crushed more easily than others.

Solution : You can fight carpet crushing by vacuuming heavy traffic areas often.  You’ll also want to move heavy furniture a few inches on a regular basis or put down protective tabs and foam blocks.

Colour Loss – Fading, colour loss and yellowing can be caused by several factors including sunlight, gases passing over the surface of the carpet and cleaning chemicals.

Solution : Protect your carpet from fading and yellowing by keeping it away from dangerous chemicals and shielding it from UV radiation.  You should also invest in window drapes, colourfast carpet or even UV window protection.  Make sure you protect your carpet from colour loss, because it is usually impossible to reverse.

Staining – Stains can occur even in carpet that is generally resistant to staining and soiling.  Treat all stains as quickly as possible for best results.

Solution : Contact All Aces Services on 1800 00 1010 as soon as a stain appears.  Chemicals at your local supermarket may cause more damage to your carpet.  All of our staff are trained through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration, so we can identify your carpet fibre, identify those stains and do expert stain removal.carpet Know all the facts about your carpet

Blood Stain Removal

February 8, 2011

We recently had a client from Camp Hill who rang us very distressed as his mum had had an accident and there was blood all over her single mattress and on the carpet.  He was worried that not only did he have the stress of his mother being in hospital but he thought he would have to replace the mattress and the carpet for when his mother did return from the hospital.  As you can see from the “before” photo, the carpet and the mattress were in a bit of a mess.

The best thing the customer had done was not to try and use any carpet cleaning or stain removal products from the supermarket.  If customers do use other products on stains it can set the stain and hinder how well our products do work.  All of our technicians are trained and qualified through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification.  This allows our technicians to provide expert stain removal and fibre identification.

If you follow this link to the Stain Removal page on our website, you can watch a video of our technicians in action.

We sent one of our most experienced technicians out to do the job.  With his professional stain removal kit he removed the stains.  The stains did take a couple of hours but they were removed 100% as you can see from the pictures.  The customer was over the moon as we saved him from having to buy a new mattress and installing new carpet.

Things to remember when you have a similar situation:

  • Don’t use products from the supermarkets.  These products are not designed for all types of carpets and can react with your stain.
  • Don’t use home remedies as they can also react with your stain.
  • Leave your stain to the professionals – this can save you money and stress.

First Aid Treatment for Spills for Consumers

September 14, 2010

At All Aces Services all of our technicians are fully trained through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) and benefit from the secrets we have developed at All Aces Services over the last 21 years.

We have a specialised stain removal division that can remove stains such as: red wine, grease, oil, gravy, beer, soft drinks, blood, egg, candle wax, crayons, chocolate, coffee, tea, cream, milk, faeces, furniture stains, chewing gum, glue, ink, tomato sauce, cordial drinks, liquor, mustard, mould/mildew, paint, nail polish, urine, rust, soil filtration lines, shoe polish, lipstick, vomit etc.

We can remove 99% of all stains. We provide specialised treatments to remove stains that others can’t.

Without having a technician on hand 24 hours/7 days, here are some tips so that you clean your own spill/spot:

Step 1: Absorb Excess with sponge or towel. Do not rub – wipe and scoop. Rubbing leaves the area looking different and is not going to make a difference to getting the stain out.

Step 2: Place a damp towel over stain and press down to absorb moisture. Do not rub – do not use spotters or detergents from the supermarket as many will leave residues that will cause re-occurring stains and others contain bleaching agents that can damage your fibre and/or colour, or use our All Aces Services Home Pro Spotter (see below) as directed. Then blot with a dry towel.

Step 3: If step 2 is unsuccessful, do not experiment.  All stains are a chemical of one kind or another.  Your stain may respond to a specific chemical.  Call a professional for advice eg. All Aces Services.

All Aces Services: Home Pro Spotter

For Safe and Effective Removal of Most Stains!home pro spotter First Aid Treatment for Spills for Consumers

All Aces Services Spot and Stain Remover has a neutral pH and yet will remove over 85% of stains from carpet and upholstery safely and effectively!  Home Pro Spotter has a unique synergistic action that works extremely well on most water-based stains, as well as many combination oil and water-based stains.

Use Home Pro Spotter to remove these “impossible” stains: blood, pet stains, urine, tomato sauce, chocolate, coffee, tea, food, liquor, most shoe polish, cosmetics, crayon, washable ink, grime, iodine, mildew, oil, latex, paint and many more!!!
Exceptions: dyes, indelible ink, bleach, or stains set by heat or other cleaning processes.

Almost every spot can be removed if taken care of immediately.

The longer the spill is allowed to dwell on the carpet or upholstery, the more chance there is of permanent discoloration.  Some spots and spills require the professional equipment, cleaning solutions and skills of a professional carpet cleaner for proper removal.  Repeated attempts to remove the spot may set the stain or cause permanent damage to the carpet.  Remember, in fabric spotting, you should blot the area that you are treating, not rub it.  Rubbing can cause permanent damage to the fibre.spot stain banner First Aid Treatment for Spills for Consumers

Home Pro Spotter for Carpet Stain Removal

I bet that over the Festive Season someone dropped something or spilled something on the carpet or the lounge suite.

We had a wonderful Christmas lunch of which we enjoyed Roast Turkey with delicious gravy – that Garry actually ended up spilling across the floor – yes I yelled – but it was OK, we have our own bottle of Home Pro Spotter under the sink ready to go. I made Garry clean the mess up – and then we blotted the spotter on the carpet and you would even know he spilt anything on it!

Most carpets in every home are value between $3000-$10 000 and most people go straight for anything in a bright shiny bottle saying – Carpet Magic, Super Dooper Carpet Cleaner.. blah blah blah. These products can actually BLEACH the carpet and make it even worse than what you started with.  If you had a expensive suit or dress that you have spilt something on you would even think about trying to remove it yourself, you would take it straight to the professional cleaners for them to deal with it.. wouldn’t you??

The same applies to your carpet. If you are going to use a product make sure it is the Home Pro Spotter.

The benefits of using the Home Pro Spotter is that it doesn’t leave a residue on the Carpet for dirt or soiling to be attracted too. It will not take colour from your carpet or lounge suite and it will not harm any of the delicate fibres or fabrics that you have in the home.home pro spotter Home Pro Spotter for Carpet Stain Removal

If you don’t have a bottle of Home Pro Spotter – drop by the Morningside factory and collect one.

Make sure the Home Pro Spotter is the only thing that you use on spots or spills – call us for advice if you get stuck or log on to www.allaces.com.au for more cleaning advice
You are in safe hands with the Home Pro Spotter
