We have cleaned various types of auto-mobiles in the past few weeks, ranging from four wheel drives to small hatch backs. Just last week we cleaned a car that a man had spilled soy sauce in. There was a great deal of sauce in the carpet, which became apparent as soon as we started to agitate the cleaning chemical in it to remove the stain. Drawing the soy sauce out of the carpet revealed it’s strong scent. Once the stains were successfully removed, drying fans were set up along with a Hydroxol Machine which removes the very strong smell of the soy sauce. The client was very pleased with the end result.

Recently, we at All Aces Services had a customer call from Clayfield in Brisbane who had a fifteen year old Jacquard Cotton lounge in need of upholstery cleaning. The customer was inquiring about how to handle stains on the lounge, which was not in the best condition, considering it’s age. To make matters even worse, the customer was very nervous about having the lounge cleaned and therefore had failed to do so for quite some time.

Ironically, the customer waiting to have the item cleaned caused the staining and damage which she was so afraid would be done during the cleaning process. Her fear was understandable to us, however, since cotton fabric can be very difficult to clean. It takes extreme care with the correct chemicals and upholstery cleaning process in order to properly care for the cotton fabric and prevent it from becoming discoloured.

As you can see from the pictures of the lounge below, there is still some major restoration work which needs to be done on the piece. With over fifteen years of wear on it, the lounge could not, of course, be made to look brand new, but the customer was thrilled with the results. Her fear of having her lounge cleaned has been relieved, and she now wishes to have All Aces clean the item every twelve months.

We recently sent Jai out to clean a leather lounge for a client located in Taringa, a suburb in the West of Brisbane. The leather had not been cleaned in quite a while. The customer has kids and animals so the leather lounge had been subjected to a fair amount of wear and tear over the years. Unfortunately it was white leather, well it was supposed to be white anyway. As you can see from the picture below it was not white, it had become almost a light brown.

When leather is not maintained it loses its protection. This exposes the leather to the harsh environment of everyday wear and tear and you will not get the life out of your leather that you should. Jai spent a good couple of hours fully cleaning the lounge with our Leather Master Soft Cleaner and then reprotecting the lounge with a Leather Master Protection Cream. Carpets should always be maintained. The biggest concern I have, especially as the Commercial and Residential Coordinator, is that companies and people wait till their carpets look dirty before having them cleaned. One of my major goals at All Aces Services is to put companies on a maintenance cleaning plan.

My latest success story was a company located in Brisbane at Paddington. They booked in to have their carpets cleaned as a one off but the carpets had not been cleaned in years. We sent Jai one of our most experienced and qualified technicians to clean their carpets.

There are so many different vacuums on the market these days.  Ones that have bags, others that don’t.  Some that have filters, others have HEPA filters.  What does all this mean and do I really need to have one?

HEPA filters are a type of filter that is able to trap large amounts of very small particles that normal vacuum cleaners would normally puff back into the air around the home.

” True HEPA filters should be able to trap at least 99.7% of airbourne particulates of 0.3 microns or larger”.  HEPA filters help trap those small particles that can cause problems with allergy sufferers.  Dust flying through the air can trigger asthma attacks, sneezing and coughing.  By reducing the amount of airbourne particles this will help maintain cleaner air for you and your family.

By using a good vacuum with a HEPA filter, it will not only avoid nasty airbourne allergens, but will help with removing up to 70% of dry soiling out of the carpet fibres.  By giving your carpet a good vacuum every week, this will also help reduce abrasion to carpet fibres, helping prolong the life of your carpet. 

Vacuums with HEPA filters are also very beneficial with removing pet hair from the carpet.

Look into getting a HEPA filter on your vacuum, it will be a positive start to removing almost all of the negative elements from your carpet.

You have had a long day at work you’re not feeling well.  You are tired and run down and all you want is a good night’s sleep.  You always see on TV and read in magazines about the debate on which is good for you : too much or too little sleep.  The real question that should be asked : is your mattress healthy to sleep on?

Every night the human body loses approximately 1 litre of body fluid through the skin, pores and mouth as well as millions of skin flakes.  Just think of it this way, we all have showers each day, we all wash our clothes, what about the mattress?  How many bugs and germs does our mattress contain?

A mattress that is not protected with a cover will have an infestation of dust mites within 3 months.  Not only dust mites but body oils, sweat, fats and DEAD SKIN – gross!  We recently got called to a job where the owner had rented out his fully furnished unit in New Farm.  The tenants had never picked up a broom or a vacuum cleaner once during their stay.

He generously supplied the tenants with a brand new mattress protector – which they kept neatly in the cupboard in the original packaging for the 2 years.  Our technician arrived and he had two queen size and two single mattresses.  Well lets say, who knows if they even put sheets on the bed.

There were:

• Urine stains
• Blood stains
• Food Stains
• Drink stains
• Body odour
• Oils
• Fats

You can see for yourself by just taking a look at the photos.

Unfortunately these mattresses were not able to be restored so this owner lost a lot of money due to the tenant not using the protectors and not having the mattress cleaned frequently.

It is recommended that every time you change your sheets you should be vacuuming your mattress at the same time.  You should have your mattress cleaned every year and treated for dust mites.

You spend approximately one third of your life in your bed, so it makes good sense to keep them clean.  Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite!
