Social Media at All Aces Services

July 29, 2011

Communication and the ways in which we do it has changed and moved ahead so quickly in the last 5 years. In saying that, it’s not as scary as it seems. At All Aces, we focus on using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and our blog.

The more I learn about social media, the more I understand why it is the go-to place for most people for news, reviews and general information. It is a constant hub of information to bring people together by covering a range of topics. I find news breaks quicker on Twitter and Facebook than on a direct news site. I can get a vast array of recommendations to things like restaurants and also great information on services and other businesses.

By maintaining a presence on facebook and twitter means you can be communicating with your customers subtly, without using ‘used car salesman techniques’ to use their services.  But when the time comes for your customer needing you, they won’t need to look anywhere, as you are already right in front of them.

To prove we are not ‘used car salespeople’ we invest a lot of time providing our customers with detailed videos on our services. We have a range of specialist videos on our carpet cleaning systems, rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning.  This gives our customers the opportunity to see how we operate and how we are dedicated to providing a quality service.

High Pressure Water and Concrete Cleaning

June 24, 2011

I live in Brisbane and was recently looking to clean up around my garden as it had become a bit messy and dirty looking.  I have a medium sized outside patio which is a concrete and paved surface.  The paved area seemed to be a general brown colour.  I also have a painted concrete side path and driveway.  Over the years there had been a build up of general dirt and grime as well as in certain areas there was some mossy growth.  This was particularly evident in areas that remained wet after rain and areas that had a build up of leaf litter.IMG 2301 300x225 High Pressure Water and Concrete Cleaning

I asked Garry Carroll, the owner of All Aces Services, about it.  He recommended the use of the petrol powered high pressure water cleaner.  I arranged to have a qualified All Aces Services technician come out and clean my out door area.  As the technician worked and the dirt and grime was blasted away we couldn’t believe our eyes.  As you can see from the photo on the right, the pavers are actually a creamy colour with a red border.  Who would have thought??!!

Also in our outdoor area we haveIMG 0064 300x225 High Pressure Water and Concrete Cleaning a wooden seating structure bordering the gardens.  This had become black looking over time and nobody really wanted to sit there.  The high power water pressure cleaner was able to blast away the grime and they came up looking fresh and wooden again.  They are now much more appealing to sit on.

We are extremely pleased at how nicely the outdoor area looks now.  We are no longer ashamed to have visitors over to see it.

The high powered water pressure cleaning system is extremely effective on driveways, concrete, bricks, walls and also on roofs.  It is also effective in graffiti removal, grease, mould, paint and rust removal.  If you are located in Brisbane or on the Sunshine Coast and require high pressure water cleaning, please call All Aces Services on 1800 00 10 10 and we can arrange to have a qualified technician over to your place for amazing results.  You won’t regret it, we certainly didn’t!

All Aces Services were recently contacted by a customer from Southport on the Gold Coast. Her young son had recently been diagnosed with Asthma and she suffers from dust mite allergies herself. Her main concerns were how to rectify the problems in her house to reduce and eliminate the symptoms. We were able to help her by using our range of Anti-Allergen products in her home. Their symptoms were drastically improved within one night.rc allfiber225 Allergies Are Serious... Dont Wait! We Have Your Green Cleaning Solutions!

We have a variety of Anti-Allergen treatments in our Responsible Care range. We can apply them in your home to carpet, upholstery and mattresses and we even have a laundry detergent available to purchase from our factory. All of the products we use in the Responsible Care range are non-toxic, dye and perfume free, contain no volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), phosphates or other hazardous materials and are biodegradable and environmentally safe. The products are actually derived from renewable fruit and vegetable seeds. The products are specially formulated to use around people with allergic illnesses and chemical sensitivities.

Did you know…..

The Environmental Protection Agency and its Science Advisory Board have consistently ranked indoor air pollution among the top five environmental risks to public health?

Mattresses contain 60% of the dust mites found in the home. This would be the number one priority in treating as this is where we spend one third of our lives.

When walls, flooring, carpets or parts of your home stay wet for longer than 24 hours, mould and bacteria will grow. This can result in the release of severe allergens into your home. Mould produces mytotoxins, which have the potential to produce toxic affects to our immune system and internal organs.

Every home has dust mites. You can’t see them but they are there. They feed on our skin flakes, as we shed over half a kilogram each year.

Cockroaches are attracted to food and moisture – including crumbs, cooking grease and plain water. After dust mites, cockroaches are the second largest group of indoor allergens. It’s important to remove or tightly cover all food and water, especially at night when cockroaches are more active.no goose down dust mites 300x225 Allergies Are Serious... Dont Wait! We Have Your Green Cleaning Solutions!

Between 75% and 90% of families with pet allergies do not take their physician’s advice and remove their pets from the home. Symptoms of pet allergies would be watery and itching eyes, hives, sneezing, coughing, wheezing and difficulty breathing.

As you can see there are many factors that can contribute to allergies and we do have the solutions. Your family’s health is our number one priority, allow us to formulate a treatment plan for you as soon as possible. Your health is everything, the longer you wait the more you could be putting yourself and your family at risk. What is a HEPA filter, and do I really need to have one?

April 20, 2011

There are so many different vacuums on the market these days.  Ones that have bags, others that don’t.  Some that have filters, others have HEPA filters.  What does all this mean and do I really need to have one?allergens What is a HEPA filter, and do I really need to have one?

HEPA filters are a type of filter that is able to trap large amounts of very small particles that normal vacuum cleaners would normally puff back into the air around the home.

” True HEPA filters should be able to trap at least 99.7% of airbourne particulates of 0.3 microns or larger”.  HEPA filters help trap those small particles that can cause problems with allergy sufferers.  Dust flying through the air can trigger asthma attacks, sneezing and coughing.  By reducing the amount of airbourne particles this will help maintain cleaner air for you and your family.

By using a good vacuum with a HEPA filter, it will not only avoid nasty airbourne allergens, but will help with removing up to 70% of dry soiling out of the carpet fibres.  By giving your carpet a good vacuum every week, this will also help reduce abrasion to carpet fibres, helping prolong the life of your carpet. Vacuum Cleaner HEPA Filter 300x162 What is a HEPA filter, and do I really need to have one?

Vacuums with HEPA filters are also very beneficial with removing pet hair from the carpet.

Look into getting a HEPA filter on your vacuum, it will be a positive start to removing almost all of the negative elements from your carpet.

Cleaning for Asthma and Allergies

September 7, 2010

Spring has sprung and this is usually the season where a lot of people develop hayfever and other allergy symptoms due to the many pollens and allergens in the air.  Allergens are hard to avoid since many of them float in the air.  Cleaning (like dusting and vacuuming) can stir up the air and the allergens in it.  Just like other particles in the air, sometimes cleaning products can “trigger” an asthma attack but it is still important to clean.  If you don’t dust and clean, mould and other allergens will build up, making asthma symptoms worse.allergy cleanequip Cleaning for Asthma and Allergies

If you have allergies or asthma, here are some important tips:

  • Read and follow label directions on cleaning products.  The label directions give the proper amount of product to use, how to use the product and any special safety advice.
  • If you use spray products, spray the cleaner on a cloth or sponge first instead of on the surface.
  • Break your cleaning into small tasks.  Spread it out over several days instead of doing it all at once.
  • Clean in a “well-ventilated” area – open a door and a window or turn on an exhaust fan.  Leave the room when you are done cleaning and allow the room to air out.
  • Try using cleaning products that have no scent or are perfume free.  Try different products to find the ones that work best for you.
  • If your asthma is severe, have someone else do the cleaning.  Try to leave home beforeallergy asthma Cleaning for Asthma and Allergies when the cleaning is being done. If you must do the cleaning yourself, wear a mask. Have asthmatic children leave the room when cleaning is being done.  Don’t ask children with asthma to dust or vacuum.  Have them do other chores like washing dishes, taking out the trash, etc.
  • Use cleaning products that are “green”.  Ones without hazardous ingredients including VOC’s (volatile organic compounds).

If you follow some easy steps you can clean safely without disrupting your life with allergy and asthma symptoms.

Please see the All Aces Services website for more details on Asthma and Allergy Cleaning.

Concrete Sealing

April 13, 2010

Concrete sealers are beneficial to your wallet considering the amount of time and money it can cost you to have your concrete relayed or repaired. Concrete sealers substanstially increase safety as well as increase the appeal of your concrete. They prevent contamination, abrasion, cracking, efflorescence leaching and much more.

Concrete is a porous material and you can either use a penetrating sealer which ‘fills’ all the holes leaving a ‘matte finish’ (so it looks the same as any concrete slab, but enhances the cracks and characteristics of the concrete which is now popular in the modern look). Or you can apply an acrylic top coat sealer which sits on top of the concrete and gives a ‘gloss finish’.

A penetrating sealer is more beneficial for the concrete and is easier for long term maintenance, however it has a ‘rough’ texture and is difficult for mopping. The acrylic top coat  is easy to clean as it is smooth like tiles, easy to mop and keep clean but more difficult for long term maintenance as the top coat sealer can wear down and may require top ups or stripping back and a new coat being put down over the top.

We have recently been contacted by one our large building insurance clients to complete a concrete sealing job. The insured’s home has had some severe water damage throughout which has required some extensive building works to take place.

When the water has gone over the polished concrete floor it has damaged and broken down sections of the sealer which does not give off an attractive appearance.

Our technician attended the site to test some areas with stripper to ensure the pre-existing sealer would be easily removed and also tested a small area to determine the correct sealer to use for the job.
