Recently, we at All Aces Services had a customer call from Clayfield in Brisbane who had a fifteen year old Jackard Cotton lounge in need of upholstery cleaning. The customer was inquiring about how to handle stains on the lounge, which was not in the best condition, considering it’s age. To make matters even worse, the customer was very nervous about having the lounge cleaned and therefore had failed to do so for quite some time.

Ironically, the customer waiting to have the item cleaned caused the staining and damage which she was so afraid would be done during the cleaning process. If the polyurethane coating wears out, you are left with the dirt inside the colour of the protected leather and this is when you start to need a restoration process. The leather cleaning and restoration process requires stripping the leather back and re-dyeing then re-coating.
